Project Captains

I can't
precisely say
what drew me to the Facebook
Suicide story on
the New York
Daily News
website, but I
clearly know
what
kept me there.
In the comment
thread, I saw
Champagne 23 was
on the brink of
suicide. I knew
this because I
once felt the
same way. As a
suicide attempt
survivor, I knew
the hopelessness
and despair of
wondering
whether you will
ever get ahead,
whether you will
live an
unfulfilled
life. I asked
her to email me.
Suena Williams,
43, has been out
of work for
more than a year. With no
savings, and an
impending
eviction from
her apartment,
she didn't see
anyway out. She
had only
sleeping pills
and rum. She
planned to take
the pills when
the sheriff put
the three-day
eviction on the
door.
My desire is to
help her see
there are
miracles with
her name written
on them and to
find hope again.
Let's help.
Let's gather
the funds to
keep her in her
apartment, and
see if we can
get her on her
feet. My
desire is to
help her see
there are
miracles with
her name written
on them and to
find hope again,
as I did.
Isabelle's House
Normally our
focus is local
women who need
help but after
hearing Linda
speak about
Suena we decided
to become
captains and tap
into our South
Carolina base of
incredible
people to see
what money we
can raise for
this good cause.
It is always
about building
community for
Isabelle's House
and sometimes
our communities
extend beyond
our city limits.
When we as a
nation decide to
reach out to
those in need,
no matter who
they are or
where they are,
or how they got
themselves into
this hard place
- we teach
ourselves and
others the true
meaning of
compassion. It
is that little
bit of effort
where we become
the change that
this nation so
desperately
yearns. We are
happy to be a
part of this
project with
Angel Helper.

Sharing
is like
having two
candles side
by side with
one lit and
the other
dark with
wick
exposed. If
you move the
two
together,
both will be
brightly lit
from the
sharing of
the flame,
with no
loss, only
pleasure,
from the
helping
candle. One day
you will be
so
successful,
you will
help others
with their
financial
needs. Best
wishes from
someone who
loves you!

Suena, I
have been
down…homeless,
jobless, but
I just kept
hanging in
there (tears
and all).
Keep
going…You
are going to
be so
powerful
when you
come out of
this! I
can’t wait
to hear your
victory
story

I lost my
job nine
months ago,
so I know
the feeling.
Everyone
needs a hand
extended in
friendship
during a bad
time. Suena,
You're never
alone.

happens for
a reason,

don't
realize it

God bless
you,
Suena. In
the late
1970s, I
lost my job,
had a
horrible
marriage,
and so many
other things
that threw
me into a
deep
depression. I
felt I had
no where to
turn. I
never
thought the
sun would
shine again
for me, but
it finally
did. I
felt I had
to leave
this world,
not that I
wanted to
but felt I
had to,
because of
insurmountable
problems but
I could not
do it. I
sought help,
found it and
recovered,
got a
long time
job
and, for me
the sun did
shine again
and
continues to
do so. I
call that
terrible
period in my
life to hell
and back.

You did a
good thing
by hanging
on. You're
going to be
ok. I wish
I had more
to give,
but, as the
website
says, any
amount will
help. You
hang
in. Peace.

the area and
I thought if
I was able
to help her,
then I
would.

After I read
the Daily
News
article, I
realized
this could
be anyone
and the
message is
so powerful.
HOPE. I can
only give so
much but
what
compelled me
to reach out
the her
is because
we all live
to make this
world a
better
place. I
want her to
believe
kindness and
love is
there for
the asking.
By fate you
met and her
story is
told. Here I
am opening
my a piece
of my heart.
HUGS to you
both.

remember,

go I." God

I'm
helping
because
suena's
story can be
any of our
stories in
this current
economic
times. It is
our duty to
reach out
and help
someone we
see in pain
and we
challenge
other
individuals
and
ministries
to do the
same.
