Who Has Helped Suena So Far?

If you donate or help in any way please email us a few lines about why you are helping and if permissible, a .jpg photo for publication with your story.

Project Captains

I can't precisely say what drew me to the Facebook Suicide story on the New York Daily News website, but I clearly know what kept me there.

In the comment thread, I saw Champagne 23 was on the brink of suicide. I knew this because I once felt the same way. As a suicide attempt survivor, I knew the hopelessness and despair of wondering whether you will ever get ahead, whether you will live an unfulfilled life. I asked her to email me.

Suena Williams, 43, has been out of work for more than a year. With no savings, and an impending eviction from her apartment, she didn't see anyway out.  She had only sleeping pills and rum. She planned to take the pills when the sheriff put the three-day eviction on the door.

My desire is to help her see there are miracles with her name written on them and to find hope again.  Let's help.  Let's gather the funds to keep her in her apartment, and see if we can get her on her feet. My desire is to help her see there are miracles with her name written on them and to find hope again, as I did.

Isabelle's House
Normally our focus is local women who need help but after hearing Linda speak about Suena we decided to become captains and tap into our South Carolina base of incredible people to see what money we can raise for this good cause. It is always about building community for Isabelle's House and sometimes our communities extend beyond our city limits. When we as a nation decide to reach out to those in need, no matter who they are or where they are, or how they got themselves into this hard place - we teach ourselves and others the true meaning of compassion. It is that little bit of effort where we become the change that this nation so desperately yearns. We are happy to be a part of this project with Angel Helper.

Sharing is like having two candles side by side with one lit and the other dark with wick exposed. If you move the two together, both will be brightly lit from the sharing of the flame, with no loss, only pleasure, from the helping candle. One day you will be so successful, you will help others with their financial needs. Best wishes from someone who loves you!

Rhea  $100

Suena, I have been down…homeless, jobless, but I just kept hanging in there (tears and all). Keep going…You are going to be so powerful when you come out of this! I can’t wait to hear your victory story

Renee-West Orange, NJ  $5

I lost my job nine months ago, so I know the feeling. Everyone needs a hand extended in friendship during a bad time. Suena, You're never alone.

Valerie—White Plains, NY  $10

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes you just don't realize it until a later time. The tide will turn!!

Betty-Alexandria, VA $25

This is for the lady in New York. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly.

Carol-Bronx, NY $10

God bless you, Suena.   In the late 1970s, I lost my job, had a horrible marriage, and so many other things that threw me into a deep depression.  I felt I had no where to turn.  I never thought the sun would shine again for me, but it finally did.   I felt I had to leave this world, not that I wanted to but felt I had to, because of insurmountable problems but I could not do it.  I sought help, found it and recovered, got a long time job and, for me the sun did shine again and continues to do so. I call that terrible period in my life to hell and back.

Jill-New York $5

You did a good thing by hanging on.  You're going to be ok.  I wish I had more to give, but, as the website says, any amount will help.  You hang in.  Peace.

Dara-Bronx, NY $50

I'm from the area and I thought if I was able to help her, then I would.

Nurse Carol—New York  $100 (Captain)

The lady from the comment thread who encouraged you to live

Delphia

After I read the Daily News article, I realized this could be anyone and the message is so powerful. HOPE. I can only give so much but what compelled me to reach out the her is because we all live to make this world a better place. I want her to believe kindness and love is there for the asking. By fate you met and her story is told. Here I am opening my a piece of my heart. HUGS to you both.

Georgene   $10

We all need to remember, "There but for the grace of God go I." God bless you, Suena.

Why Help Suena W?  Why Not?

Despite her lovely smile, Suena is in trouble.  Just days ago she was on the verge of taking her own life.  Her financial problems and loneliness are crushing her. While there is no single, neat,  simple fix for Suena's difficulties, there are real solutions.
There are trained professionals all around her who will be helping.  There are also friends, who are beginning to surface.  You can help, too.  But for right now, we need to keep her safe and give her hope.  She's a talented woman who will recover.  We are simply buying her time, and offering help.  We've performed the necessary background checks and met her in person.  She is real, and her pain is real.  This is not scam.  We all want to change the world.  let's start with helping just one person in trouble.

How Can You Help Suena?

Donate

We're asking you to help in one of several ways.  First, you can help financially.  We'd like to raise $6,000 dollars by the end of the month to help keep Suena in her apartment.  She needs other help, of course, but the first step is to make sure she is not homeless, and out on the street.  Eventually, she'll get on her feet, find a job and pay her own rent.  She owes a total of $17,000 dollars in back rent. At a maximum we only need 17,000 people nationwide to giver one dollar.

We're also asking people to sign on as captains who pledge to raise a minimum of $100.
